Luke Littler defeated Michael Wan Gerven 8-5 in the final of the Bahrain.

It has been a meteoric rise for Littler, who beat Humphreys in the World Darts final earlier this month. Like Humphreys, Littler feared losing his edge against Van Gerwen. He tied the game at 5-5 on Thursday.

However, Littler took the final three stages and won the Bahrain Masters, winning £20,000. As well as the £200,000 he won by reaching the final at Alexandra Palace.

Van Gerwen warned Littler about fatigue and urged him to give people time.

The feat also made Little the youngest player to hit a televised 9-darter, surpassing Van Gerwen’s previous record, and only the second player to do so in a World Series, after Phil Taylor. After defeating Van Gerwen, Littler said “I haven’t shot a dart since a World Cup final”.

In 2017, Feng became the only Chinese golfer to date to reach the world No 1 ranking.  During a supremely consistent career, Feng registered 18 top-10 finishes in majors, two of them in 2021 even as she was winding down her playing commitments.
