F1 News: Ralf Schumacher Calls For Christian Horner Resignation Amid Red Bull Turmoil

Ralf Schumacher believes Christian Horner’s resignation is important for the Red Bull brand.

Former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher has taken his criticism of Christian Horner to a new level, advocating for the Red Bull Team Principal’s prompt resignation.

Ralf Schumacher amplifies his criticism towards Christian Horner, calling for his immediate resignation as Red Bull Racing’s Team Principal.

Schumacher criticises Horner’s handling of personal allegations and his “portrayal as a victim”, raising concerns over the team’s and the sport’s integrity.

The controversy surrounding Horner, according to Schumacher, detracts from the sport and damages the Red Bull brand, despite Red Bull GmbH’s initial dismissal of the investigation.

Ralf Schumacher, the former Formula 1 driver and Sky Sports Germany pundit, has once again voiced his concerns about Christian Horner, this time demanding his immediate resignation from the leadership position at Red Bull Racing.

Schumacher’s concerns revolve around Horner’s approach to the allegations against him, particularly his reaction and comments at a press conference in Saudi Arabia. Schumacher said in conversation with

โ€œIt became problematic for me when he portrayed himself as a victim in the press conference in Saudi Arabia.

โ€œIโ€™m sorry for his family, yes, but there was only one person who started this whole thing: him. I think it can no longer be denied that he and his personal assistant must have become very close.”

He continued, highlighting the lack of transparency and the impact of the controversy on all parties involved:

“I canโ€™t accept that he keeps saying he doesnโ€™t want to talk about it in detail.

โ€œI can say from my own experience when it comes to my divorce: Yes, it is difficult at the beginning when such a private matter is carried out in public.

โ€œBut there comes a time when we have to talk about it because in the end itโ€™s whatโ€™s best for all parties. For example, you donโ€™t hear anything from Hornerโ€™s employee and thatโ€™s not good. Nobody talks about her.”

Schumacher’s insistence on the need for Horner’s resignation is underpinned by his belief that the ongoing situation undermines the team and the sport as a whole. He cited Horner’s own words to underscore his point:

โ€œOne thing is certain: As long as this chaos remains, it will do immense damage to Red Bull. Horner said that no one is more important than the team. Therefore, he should follow this command and resign as soon as possible.โ€

The saga has overshadowed the sport to a significant extent, with Schumacher pointing out:

โ€œWhat I found and still think is a shame: the Christian Horner case outshines everything.

โ€œThis became particularly clear on the first weekend in Bahrain. It wasnโ€™t until race day that there was a little talk about the sport.

โ€œWhat also bothers me about the whole thing: An objective assessment is extremely difficult because there is a complete lack of transparency.

โ€œEverything should be sorted out as quickly as possible. It wouldnโ€™t hurt anyone if he left. It would be important for the Red Bull brand.โ€
