Scottie Scheffler’s dedication to family took center stage last week during the Masters, where he candidly discussed his plan to withdraw from the tournament if his wife, Meredith, went into labor with their first child. Despite his eventual victory, the story continued to follow him as he returned to the RBC Heritage, again leading after 54 holes, while awaiting the arrival of their baby.

During the Masters Par-3 Contest, Scheffler revealed his willingness to leave Augusta National and return home to Texas if necessary. Reflecting on the impending arrival of their child, Scheffler remarked on the excitement and admitted feeling underprepared for parenthood. However, he assured that open communication with Meredith would ensure he could be by her side at a moment’s notice.

Despite the media attention, Scheffler secured his second Masters victory, maintaining his focus on family. As he led once again at the RBC Heritage, he reiterated his commitment to be available for Meredith, even jokingly stating, “She better call.”

Returning home after the Masters win, Scheffler celebrated with Meredith before heading to the RBC, where he continued to excel. However, he downplayed the attention the story had received, emphasizing that Meredith had not shown any early signs of labor.

Asked if he considered not playing the RBC, Scheffler reaffirmed his commitment to the tournament, citing his love for the course and the game. Despite his fatigue, he remained focused on his performance.
Looking ahead to the PGA Championship, Scheffler acknowledged that his priorities would shift upon the baby’s arrival. While he planned to prepare as best he could, he recognized that family would always come first.

In the midst of his golfing success, Scheffler’s story serves as a reminder of the importance of balancing career aspirations with family commitments, showcasing his dedication both on and off the course.
