journalist Amanda Balionis, golf star Rory McIlroy shocked the golf world with a heartbreaking confession. Charlie Woods had a disappointing result as Future Masters 2024 was shortened due to bad weather

Charlie Woods had a poor performance at Future Masters 2024. On Saturday, June 29, the match was stopped due to bad weather and the final rankings were announced based on the players’ positions after the second round. Charlie Woods shot two rounds of 73 and 76 to finish tied for 103rd on the leaderboard. Ben Shedd won the tournament, with Brantley Moore settling for second place. Even if Charlie Woods’ performance at the Future Masters 2024 was disappointing, some of his shots drew applause. Woods hit some impressive wedge shots in the first round of the junior tournament and made some difficult birdies in the second round. Earlier this month, Charlie Woods qualified for the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship through the qualifying rounds. He will be taking part in the upcoming junior event with the aim of continuing his father’s legacy. Tiger Woods has won the U.S. Junior Amateur three times during his career, and now all eyes are on Charlie as he makes his USGA debut next month.

Reviewing his performance in the qualifying round of the U.S. Junior Amateur, Young Woods said (via Yahoo Sports):

“I didn’t play very well the first two holes, but I played very well the last 16 holes. I told myself not to hit any more bogeys or doubles, and when I saw a good look from the bird, I took advantage of it.

After this week’s Future Masters, Charlie Woods will next compete in the U.S. Junior Tournament at Oak Hills from July 22-28.

Charlie Woods has risen to 38th in the junior golf rankings and is preparing for the U.S. Junior Amateur.

Earlier this month, Charlie Woods won the qualifying round of the 2024 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship, significantly raising his ranking among junior golfers. A recent report from Universal Golf Rankings (TUGR) showed Woods rising to 38th in the rankings. TUGR shared the post on its X account (formerly Twitter) and wrote:

“Charlie Woods has risen to 38th in the class of 2027, according to the TUGR Junior Rankings. After taking first place in the U.S. Junior Amateur Qualifier, he is now at the highest level of his junior career in all categories. A very promising D1 player and heading in the right direction.”

Notably, Charlie Woods’ performance has improved in recent months. He previously had a shot at qualifying for the Cognizant Classic, but missed out on a PGA Tour spot after shooting a 16-over 86.

But his recent performances have shown better results. He is currently preparing to play in the U.S. Junior Championship and if Woods wins the tournament, he will be guaranteed a spot in the 2025 U.S. Open and could play alongside professional golfers.
