man was indicted by the U.S. Attorney’s office Tuesday for transporting millions of dollars’ worth of stolen merchandise from Augusta National Golf Club including Arnold Palmer’s Green Jacket, per Darren Rovell of cllct.

The items were reportedly taken from Augusta National between 2009-2022. The FBI charged Richard Globensky, a former warehouse coordinator at Augusta National, for bringing Masters items across state lines from Augusta, Georgia, to Tampa, Florida. The indictment does not specify if Globensky stole or sold them. Globensky is scheduled to be arraigned and enter a plea on May 15 in federal court in Illinois.

If convicted, Globensky will have to forfeit “any property which constitutes and is derived from proceeds traceable to the offense, including a personal money judgment,” according to Juliette Arcodia of NBC News.

Palmer, who passed away on Sept. 25, 2016, won the Masters Tournament at Augusta National five times during his Hall of Fame career. Augusta National honored him at the 2017 tournament by placing his jacket on a chair on the course. Rovell noted that according to his sources, the ceremonial jacket was not his winner’s jacket. Augusta National has never publicly acknowledged that Palmer’s Green Jacket went missing from the club.

“Real estate records show Globensky and his wife sold their lavish home in nearby Evans, Georgia, for just over $2 million last year, a year after the alleged scheme ended. The six-bedroom, 7,300-square-foot home featured an in-ground pool and outdoor putting green,” Meisner wrote.

The charges were filed two days after Augusta National hosted the 88th annual Masters Tournament. Scottie Scheffler won the event for a second time, becoming the 18th golfer to win multiple Green Jackets.
