Tiger Woods reportedly headed to Valhalla today to “reconnoitre” ahead of next week’s PGA Championship. The 48-year-old Woods told multiple broadcasters last week that he plans to play in the remaining three majors in 2024, and hopefully one tournament a month by the end of the season.

As luck would have it, he received a special invitation to the third major tournament of the season, the U.S. Open, to be held at Pinehurst from June 13th to 16th. The limited playing schedule comes as Woods makes a significant recovery from ankle surgery he underwent last season following a tragic car accident in February 2022.

Woods has previously undergone multiple back surgeries that have hindered his PGA Tour career despite a monumental win at the 2019 Masters for his 15th major title. Woods clears up Sunday Red confusion

Despite all of Woods’ recent setbacks, the 15-time major champion did well to set a new record for consecutive cuts, set at last month’s Masters.

Unfortunately, Woods was unable to keep his foot on the gas throughout the weekend and finished alone in last place in 60th place. That was the last time we saw Woods play.

Many golf fans believe that Woods being forced to play 23 holes on Friday after being substituted on Thursday hurt his chances of climbing the leaderboard over the final 36 holes. Tiger Woods goes to Valhalla today.

The good news for Woods at Valhalla is that the course is much flatter than Augusta National, especially the front nine.

Woods is also in high spirits heading into his second major of the season, especially since winning the 2000 PGA Championship at Valhalla in a three-hole playoff with Bob May. However, when Woods competed there again in 2014, he didn’t have the same luck as he moved to MC.

According to the popular X/Twitter account TWLegion, the four-time PGA Champion played at Valhalla on Monday, May 6, just 24 hours after his best friend Justin Thomas did the same. He was heading to the game. Woods requires another victory to establish a direct record of the 83 -PGA tour victory.
