Scottie Scheffler’s legal saga with the Louisville Police Department continues to develop.

Scheffler’s attorney, Steve Romines, says he’ll hold a press conference outside of the Jefferson County Hall of Justice on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. ET.

Scheffler’s court date is scheduled for June 3, and many are viewing this press conference as a sign that the charges against the World No. 1 golfer are likely to be dismissed.

Scheffler is currently facing four charges stemming from his arrest before the second round of the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club. One of the golfer’s charges is felony second-degree assault on a police officer.

Scheffler described the situation as a “big misunderstanding.” Romines said one police officer directed Scheffler to enter the golf club, but the arresting officer — Bryan Gillis — ordered him to stop.

“He was trying to get into the facility when he was arrested,” Romines said, via “Scottie didn’t know what was going on.”

Romines has made it very clear that they have no plans to settle the case.

“Our position remains the same as it was last Friday. I am not negotiating as we have no interest in settling. I am preparing to litigate as needed and the case will be dismissed or we will go to trial because Scottie did absolutely nothing wrong,” Romines said in a previous statement.

Scheffler will not be in attendance for Wednesday’s press conference.
