It won’t be long before the Sauber name disappears from Formula 1, with Audi buying the Swiss F1 team in 2026. An interim name emerges following Alfa Romeo’s departure as team sponsor. But not all Grand Prix in 2024 will be the same.

However, as Stake is a gaming sponsor, the Australian company name and sponsorship may not appear in all countries. As a result, in some races this year, teams will be run under different team names.

During events where teams are not allowed to use the Stake F1 team name or display Stake sponsorship messages, the team will operate as a Kick F1 team. There are two reasons why teams do this:

First of all, in this way teams and sponsors have found a solution to the problem of sponsoring gambling in some countries. They also want to focus on Kick like they did in some of last year’s races.

The owner of the stake is also the owner of the Kick streaming platform. This means that we will not need to sign new contracts with new parties for more races in 2024. Earlier, the FIA announced that the team’s chassis name on the official “participation list” for 2024 would be “Kick Sauber”.

Collaboration with the Formula 1 team and sponsorship led the brand to launch a major collaboration this year. In fact, Paddock believes it is the biggest sponsorship deal in Sauber’s original team history.

This is good news for team principal Alessandro Bravi, who can now fully focus on the team’s transition to Audi for 2026 over the next two years.
