If Sergio Perez leaves soon, Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo will be at the top of the wish list.

Perez’s position has been under scrutiny for some time and I believe the team will take decisive action if his poor form returns in 2024. This opens up the opportunity for someone to go with three-time world champion Max Verstappen. According to F1 journalist Lawrence Barretto, Ricciardo would be the favorite to do so.

It’s a “good headache” for Red Bull.

In an article on the official F1 website, Barretto noted that some may question whether the Australian, who spent five seasons with the team between 2014 and 2018, will be able to recapture his best form in next season. “Riccardo is currently considered to be at the top of the short list of candidates to replace the management team,” he wrote.

“The Australian needs to get back to his best form this year and with many insiders believing his AlphaTauri team will take a big step forward in terms of competitiveness this year, he has a great opportunity. “This is a headache for Red Bull as Ricciardo 2018 may be too strong an option.”
