Scottie Scheffler has a long way to go before he can match Tiger Woods’ accomplishments, but he’s already following in the golf legend’s footsteps in a big way. Like Woods, Scheffler has made his caddie rich: The 28-year-old golfer is hitting his stride in 2024 and has more than $62 million in prize money after winning his second Augusta title and FedEx Cup crown this month. In addition to these victories, Scheffler won five other PGA Tour events and won a gold medal at the Paris Olympics. Typically, a professional player’s caddie can expect to receive between 7 and 10 percent of the prize money if they win a tournament. That means Scheffler’s caddie, Ted Scott, who started working with Scheffler after his split with Bubba Watson in 2021, made millions that year alone. Scott admitted on the “Pardon My Take” podcast that he had to hire an accountant because he was making so much. “We have a daughter who helps us pay the bills,” he shared.

“Basically because I’m a kid and I can’t keep up with all these things. She quickly took on this work and writes to me at the end of every week, saying: “Hey, this is how much we pay Ted.” I like: “It’s great.”

Scott is not the only Caddy who hit the jackpot, united with the legend of Golf. Steve Williams, who was on Tiger Woods’ list, became New Zealand’s highest-paid female athlete in 2000, overtaking Olympic champion Mark Todd and rugby superstar Jonah Loma.
