Jack: Tiger will ‘kill everybody’ on Champs; LIV a ‘powerful addition’

Jack Nicklaus appeared on “Golf Central” Wednesday night to discuss a variety of topics in the sport of golf.
Of course, part of the discussion was about Tiger Woods. Nicklaus Woods says he believes even at age 48 and after all the injuries, he “can do anything he wants to do.” He said he was excited to compete again and called Woods “a great asset.” To the PGA Tour Policy Committee. He didn’t see Woods pass and he didn’t even reach 18 majors. “If he was healthy, I think it was a problem, but he wasn’t healthy,” Nicklaus said. “… I feel sorry for that person.”

Nicklaus then added of his major label, “Oh, I think it’s going to stick around for a while.”

He also had this to say about Woods, who is expected to add another level of competition in the coming years: “I think Tiger is playing in the big tournament. He can get into the wagon and kill everyone.

Ongoing PGA Tour-LIV golf talk: “I talked to Jay [Monahan] three weeks ago. As we were talking, I said this, “Jay, don’t tell me what you’re doing. I do not wanna know. Because Rich Lerner is going to ask me about it. And if I don’t know, I don’t have to answer that question. So I don’t know where it goes. . I hope they put it all together for the good of golf. LIV has been a powerful addition to the game and may have had a bigger impact than we thought, but it will continue to do so.

In particular, Monahan said, “I know Jay has been beaten, but I’ve always supported him. “Everything Jay did was in the best interest of golf and the Tour.”

His best shot: a 1-iron total. (He mentioned three in the interview.)
