NFL Rumors: First Bill Belichick Suitor Emerges After Patriots Split

The hot topic for the Patriots is whether Bill Belichick will stay as head coach through the 2024 season. Hear what Rob Gronkowski had to say about Belichick’s job security. Like Tom Brady, could Bill Belichick end up in the NFC South after a historically successful run with the Patriots?
After cutting ties with New England on Thursday, Belichick is now looking for a new job. Legendary coach and team owner Robert Kraft met frequently throughout the week and ultimately made a “mutual” decision to go their separate ways.
The 71-year-old hits the open market at an opportune time, as there are currently head coaching vacancies in a quarter of the NFL. ESPN’s Mike Reiss and Adam Schefter reported that “some” of those teams are expected to show interest in Belichick, but only mentioned the Falcons as a potential suitor. Dianna Russini of The Athletic also claimed that Atlanta had been interested in signing Belichick “for several weeks” in a report filed shortly after news of him leaving New England broke. A day before news of the Belichick-Patriots split broke, ESPN’s Dan Graziano reported that people close to the future Pro Football Hall of Fame coach believed the Falcons would be a “good fit.” Atlanta has a talented roster and is in a market where the ever-focused Belichick can only focus on football. So Belichick could expect to get a call from Arthur Blank and company soon. But it seems there is a lot of competition to get the best football coach.
