Gary Woodland started his first job this week after undergoing surgery to remove brain damage. Woodland, 39, was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury last year and underwent surgery on Sept. 18 to remove “a significant portion of the tumor.” The Sony Open is his first start since last season’s Wyndham Championship. “The biggest [symptom] was that I felt like I wasn’t myself. There was a lot of noise, especially in the middle of the night. shaking; “His hands were really shaking.” When asked what prompted him to see a doctor this week, Woodland said, “I have a lot of fears. That was the scariest thing. I am a very optimistic person. I believe good things will happen. I am
