Wolff signs new multi-year contract with Mercedes

As Mercedes look to return to the top of the grid, Toto Wolff has committed his future to the team by signing a new multi-year deal to stay on as team principal.

RacingNews365 can reveal that Toto Wolff has signed a new multi-year contract with Mercedes to remain as team principal. It has been reported that the contract has been extended by three years, leaving Wolff at the helm of the Mercedes team.
The Austrian is the longest-serving team principal in F1, after Red Bull’s Christian Horner. Wolff, who joined Mercedes in 2013, owns a 33% stake and led the team during its dominant period in the turbo-hybrid era.
Mercedes became one of the most successful teams in Formula 1, winning every championship under Wolff from 2014 to 2020 and taking the constructors’ title in 2021. However, after the introduction of the new technical regulations in 2022, Mercedes withdrew its claim process without understanding the key impact rules.

The car has won just one Grand Prix in the last two seasons, finishing third and second in the Constructors’ Championship in 2022 and 2023 respectively. Last year, Mercedes announced that it had extended the contracts of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell until the end of the 2025 season.
Now, with the company expected to return to title contention soon, Wolff’s commitment is solidified. Mercedes’ campaign kicks off on February 14 this year at the Silverstone Circuit, when the company unveils its 2024 car, dubbed the W15.
