Atlanta Hawks Release Injury Report Ahead of Wednesday’s Matchup With The Orlando Magic

The Hawks continue their winning streak against the San Antonio Spurs in the annual MLK Day game, and Atlanta will look for more wins with more home games in January.

The Hawks are back in action next Wednesday against the Orlando Magic. The Hawks are 1-1 against the Magic this season with a win in Mexico City and a recent rematch loss in Orlando.

Atlanta releases its injury report for tomorrow night and there are no surprises. Mouhamed Gueye (fractured right vertebra), De’Andre Hunter (inflammation of right knee), Vit Krejci (dislocated left shoulder) and Wesley Matthews (sprained right calf) are all out for Atlanta.

It’s no secret that the Atlanta Hawks have had one of the worst third quarter teams in the NBA this season. He is currently ranked 27th in T3 Net Rating with a rating of -13.4. The Hawks rallied in the third quarter this year and allowed the Spurs to come back from a 35-point deficit.
San Antonio outscored the Hawks 33-18 in the third quarter, and the Hawks offense was ice cold. We didn’t score as easily as we did in the first half, and Trae Young’s defense was much better than before.
Hawks coach Quin Snyder was asked about his team’s poor third quarter after yesterday’s win and said:

“Whether we’re 30th, 29th or 25th, we know it. You can tell by how I started the game tonight. We started the third quarter like we started the game. You know, the third trimester is going to be special. Sometimes it’s 10 or 5 minutes in the fourth quarter, sometimes it’s 2 minutes…that makes the difference for us. It is better not to allow 6 or 8 quarters. . – Point run becomes 15-2 run. So, especially when we go on vacation, it’s a real topic to focus on because it’s there and there’s nothing we don’t know. Whether we’re ahead or behind, we just have to pay attention to your thoughts. This is the most important thing for me. That’s how we have to play when we’re down. That’s exactly what I’m talking about.”

If Atlanta wants to build on yesterday’s win and turn their season around, they’ll need to get things right in the third quarter. The next opportunity comes tomorrow against the Magic.
