Bad news: Tiger Woods has lost another top-five player to a lack of funds after his failure.
Golf enthusiasts go crazy for TIGER WOODS up his sleeve!
Last week there was much controversy in the golf industry over which clothing brand Woods, 48, would address, as he confirmed his split from Nike.
It was an incredibly successful collaboration that spanned nearly 27 years, Woods wrote in an emotional social media post.
Woods is estimated to have earned around $500 million from Nike. There were rumors last week that Woods could announce a new apparel partnership with equipment supplier Taylor.
The brand has a clothing department, but its range is limited.
As TWLegion reported in X last week, TaylorMade has advertised a role for its new apparel division. Woods has continued to use TaylorMade golf clubs since Nike stopped making golf equipment, so it seems like a logical move.
Woods, who previously wore Nike golf shoes for most of his PGA Tour career, has been traveling recently in FootJoy shoes as he recovers from ankle surgery following a horrific car accident in Los Angeles in 2021. But today a leaked video of Woods with Travis Matthews’ tool on his arm went viral.
Woods was wearing a Nike hat and shirt at the time, suggesting he filmed the video while under contract with Nike. In a video released, some Woods fans question Travis Matthews’ contract for his record 82 PGA Tour wins.
Others think it’s complete bullshit, especially since Travis is Matthew Calley’s partner. Of course, since Woods is a TaylorMade player, you’d think a trade would be impossible since Callaway is their rival.
Travis Mathew will be worn by many players on tour in 2024, but none more so than LIV Golf League star Jon Rahm. Woods, 48, announced in an emotional social media post on Jan. 8 that he was parting ways with Nike after a 27-year partnership.
The 15-time champion is estimated to have earned around $500 million during his time at Nike. Woods played his last tournament wearing Nike golf apparel when he played alongside his son Charlie Woods in the 2023 PNC Championship on Christmas Eve.
Day, the world No. 1 and 2015 US PGA champion, also signed a deal with Nike Golf this season. Day, 36, did not renew his contract with Nike and instead moved to Malbon, where he turned heads with his new clothes – especially baggy pants!
There are a lot of rumors around social media that Nike plans to pull out of the golf apparel and footwear market this season, but that’s definitely not the case. According to GolfMagic’s sources, the brand appears to be downsizing rather than exiting the golf business.
