Wrexham have reportedly submitted a bid for Wigan Athletic striker Stephen Humphrys after Phil Parkinson’s request for attacking reinforcements.

, the Red Dragons have made a formal offer for Humphrys as they aim to strengthen their attacking lineup before the transfer window closes. The Wigan ace is now in the final six months of his contract, which might help the Welsh outfit to get him at a discounted price.

Humphrys has nine goals and four assists in 33 games across various competitions for Wigan this season. Having spent the 2022-23 season on loan at Hearts in Scotland, Humphrys returned to Wigan last summer. He is a product of Fulham’s academy and had stints with Southend in 2019 and Rochdale in 2020, before making the move to Wigan the following year.

It remains to be seen if Wrexham’s bid is enough to convince Wigan to let go of their prized asset. Nonetheless, there is little doubt that the potential acquisition of Humphrys would add more depth and firepower to Wrexham’s squad as they strive for back-to-back promotions.
