LIV golf duo Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter have agreed on their golfing futures.

Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter are two of Europe’s most successful golfers, but with their careers in tatters, the LIV duo have opened up about their futures.

LIV Golf duo Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter have confirmed the end of their Ryder Cup team run in Europe.

Westwood and Poulter have established themselves as European Ryder Cup regulars throughout their careers, competing in 18 matches between them. However, the pair were left out of the European squad for last fall’s event in Rome due to their LIV allegiance.

Westwood and Poulter were two of the LIV stars forced to withdraw from the DP World Tour in May after being sanctioned over the Saudi move. The duo therefore turned down the opportunity to represent the continent on the Ryder Cup stage. They had to watch last year’s game against the United States from home. They could soon return as negotiations continue on a framework agreement between the PGA Tour, DP World Tour and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF).

Once completed, players on the LIV circuit are expected to return to their previous tournaments, allowing Westwood and Poulter to requalify. But Westwood and Poulter, aged 50 and 48, believe they have played in their last Ryder Cup.

In the latest episode of Majesticks GC Camp Confidential, the two LIV captains discussed their Ryder Cup future, with Westwood declaring: “My playing days are over.” Poulter agreed, adding: “It’s mine.”
