PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles are both in Pennsylvania. However, there is a possibility that the two teams will meet in Brazil next season.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced Monday that the Eagles have been designated the “home team” for the league’s first game in Sao Paulo, Brazil. That means one of the Eagles’ nine opponents will travel to South America.

The Eagles’ South American game is Week 1 against an opponent to be announced in the spring before the full 2024 regular season schedule is released. The game will be played on Friday, September 6, marking the first time in more than 50 years that the NFL has played a Week 1 game on a Friday night. The Cardinals and Rams met on a Friday in September 1970.
