TPC Scottsdale’s famous Stadium Course gets price increase for 2024

TPC Scottsdale’s Stadium Course, home of the WM Phoenix Open, has been more expensive for those looking to play the famous venue.

The home of the PGA Tour’s toughest events just got a little more expensive. The TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course needs little introduction and since 1987 has hosted the WM Phoenix Open (although it has gone through a few name changes) and has become one of the most attended and anticipated weeks on the PGA Tour calendar.

Besides the festive atmosphere, there is something else that makes this competition memorable. It’s fun, looks great on TV, provides beautiful theater and has a final act that makes for a fantastic finale. One more thing: it’s public!

Even if you can’t play next week on the PGA Tour (Riviera Country Club) or many of the other courses on the PGA Tour roster, you can play TPC Scottsdale’s Stadium Course (including its non-tour courses). Champion course in progress). But as you can imagine, it is expensive. Golf in the Phoenix area is at its peak this time of year, so even some of the less desirable lots are more expensive. The same goes for places like luxury resort courses or stadium courses where the world’s best players gather for one week a year.

TPC Scottsdale uses dynamic pricing, so rates can change based on time of day, season and demand, but last year’s highest rate was $525. This year, the top percentages are up, but only slightly. Now it’s $551. But that doesn’t mean you have to pay the price. You can get a small discount for a round in advance or book a cheaper time slot later, but ideally you’ll want to start early enough to cover all 18 holes. The lowest published rate for the first week of May is $370.

The stadium is certainly an expensive course, but the marginal increase this year is less than we’ve seen in the past for other expensive public options. In 2022, the cap at the Stadium at TPC Sawgrass, home of The Players Championship, has increased from $120 to $840. A few months ago it rose again, this time to $60, reaching a high of $900. And Shadow Creek in Las Vegas saw its prices jump 25 percent last fall, to $1,250.

And if you’re one of those people put off by those prices, don’t worry. Here is a list of the 100 best golf courses in America where you can play great golf for $150 or less.
