Red Bull have warned Adrian Newey could retire if Christian Horner is sacked following an investigation by his top lawyer. The 50-year-old is being investigated by the Austrian team’s parent company, Red Bull, over allegations of inappropriate behavior following a complaint by a woman, which he strongly denies. Newey is arguably the greatest technical maestro in F1 history and has been designing Red Bull cars for nearly 20 years. The working relationship with Horner has been incredibly successful over the years, but former Williams team manager Peter Windsor believes the relationship could end if the Red Bull boss is sacked. “I think it’s an interesting issue to discuss and think about what would have happened to Red Bull if Christian had been there. If he had lost his job and been fired, that would be a big deal.” , Windsor said in a YouTube video. I think a lot of publications in Europe will say: “Then the management will go back to Red Bull”. “It makes me think about the future of the team. I’m curious about Adrian Newey and what he’s doing. You may actually have reached retirement age. I think he thinks it’s the end of an era where he was a Christian buffer and easy to get along with. Peter Windsor advised Newey to stand down once Horner left office.

“I’m on the same page. “It would obviously be bad for Christian if he left, but I think it would have a huge impact on Adrian’s future.”

Newy has recently been linked with a move to Ferrari, with the 65-year-old previously expressing his desire to work for the Italian outfit. However, Newey is understood to have expressed his intention to join Red Bull regardless of Horner’s departure from the team.

Regardless of Horner’s future, Newey will remain at Red Bull.
