New details have emerged of the investigation into Red Bull F1 team boss Christian Horner following allegations of inappropriate behaviour. Horner, 50, was due to answer to independent lawyers in London today but has denied the allegations.

The employee’s claims are understood to relate to behavioral monitoring complaints. Sky Sports’ Craig Slater recently revealed the details of the investigation and said: “It looks like the investigation will be ongoing for some time.”

“I’m not going to wait for the results of the inquest today,” Slater told Sky Sports News on Friday. “I think it’s better not to call it a hearing, as it is commonly described. I believe the meeting and interview between these researchers and Christian Horner will take place in central London today rather than at the team’s headquarters in Milton Keynes. Therefore, today I do not expect any results.

“Obviously today is a very important day. We know that Red Bull takes this investigation very seriously. There have been allegations of inappropriate behavior by a female employee of Christian Horner and I understand this involved controlling and coercive behaviour. “Here we look at the allegations against Christian Horner.

“He has strongly denied the allegations and is committed to clearing his name, but understands this may be the first step in a process that may take time. “It could be my first interview or my second interview with Christian Horner. I think he’s ready and it’s going to be a very long day.

“If I understand, we are talking about a process that starts in the morning and continues until the afternoon. The researchers promised to solve this problem in depth. “For those who think it can be done today or Thursday, February 15, before the Red Bull launch, I’m not sure.

“It doesn’t work because I understand that the Formula 1 calendar works as a program that favors making clear and fair decisions for both parties.”

Slater rejected claims the investigation was linked to a power struggle behind the scenes at Red Bull. “You go online and you read a lot about it and I don’t think it’s right,” he explained. “The instructions given by Milton Keynes are that it is not a battle between Salzburg and Milton Keynes for control of this racing team.

“Remember, this organization was founded by billionaire Dietrich Mateschitz, co-owner of a beverage company. He passed away a few months ago, and since then former Red Bull Leipzig manager Oliver Mintzlaff has taken over the entire sports organization.

“But it was explained to me that such investigations were too outdated to be dominated by power struggles taking place elsewhere. “You can read stories about Bernie Ecclestone’s friend Christian Horner being linked to the Thai majority shareholder of drinks maker Red Bull. This is an old view of the development of power politics in Formula 1.

Christian Horner is said to be closer than ever to top designer Adrian Newey. Is there a small gap here and is it costing Christian Horner a loss?

“There may be some consequences if Christian Horner leaves, but it should have no impact on the investigation. “So let’s take a look at what’s going on today and see if we can get more details on how it’s happening.

“But I think it will be before the launch of the 20th Red Bull race car next Thursday, which may not be completed before pre-season testing starts.”
