Appearing on the Love The Darts podcast ahead of the sixth night in Brighton, Lloyd said if Littler continues to produce “great” darts and the consistency of points we’re used to, he could finish in the top four in the final. He claimed to be deaf. He has saved up more than enough money to secure his position. “The great thing about Luke Littler is that he’s only 17, but he’s so in control of his emotions that he can’t just say, ‘I have to do this.’ I think this is what I have to do,” Lloyd said.

“He shows up and puts in a great performance and if his performance is good enough, he gets a result. “Despite all the damage he caused, it’s interesting to see him start using the new dartboard.

“It doesn’t do him any harm and he continues to shoot everywhere. “Obviously it would be great if he could win at least one night, and he would like to win at least one night, but given his consistency, I don’t think he needs it. ‘Cause I think he’s always there, or that’s the reason.”The consistency he’s shown in the Premier League is amazing.

“If he can maintain this consistency, he will make it to the finals.”

The World Cup finalists are using their own dartboards made by sponsor Target. These are pixelated shafts and tend to be more expensive than regular darts with 45mm long tips.
