Tiger Woods Opts Out Of Latest PGA Tour Event Ahead Of Masters

Tiger Woods misses final PGA Tour event before Masters

The five-time Masters champion has decided to skip next week’s Valspar Championship, just three weeks before the major.

Tiger Woods’ decision to skip the Players Championship has raised many eyebrows, especially since he previously laid out a best-case scenario of holding the tournament in 2024, a month from now.

The decision opened the door to play in next week’s Valspar Championship, but Friday’s deadline passed without Woods’ name being called into the field for the event at the Copperhead Course. That means the 15-time major champion’s only appearance on the PGA Tour this year was at the Genesis Invitational in February, when he withdrew in the second round due to illness.

Woods’ decision to withdraw again means that the earliest he can return to action will be at the Houston Open later this month, just two weeks away.
