Phil Taylor believes Luke Littler could play a major role in the 2024 Darts calendar.

Three weeks ago, Littler had no talk at Premier League Darts. The sensational player, born in 2007, entered the World Darts Championship outside the world top 150 but earned his chance to go all the way after defeating Luke Humphreys in Wednesday night’s final.

With the 2024 World Championship over, the next big event on the darts calendar will be the opening of the Premier League on February 1. Organizers are expected to announce the final squad on Thursday, with the top four players participating automatically and a further four players selected jointly by the PDC and Sky Sports.

Taylor, who won 16 world darts titles during his career, is adamant that Littler should be one of the four wildcards ahead of a fairytale final at Alexandra Palace. Don’t miss… Luke Little is incredibly rich even at the age of 16.

Phil Taylor has called on the PDC to include Luke Little in their Premier League squad. “Luke Littler in the Premier League is crazy. Why not pick a player who can win the Premier League,” he said. “Why would Sky return with the real ratings winner when everyone is talking about this little guy?” “Imagine the Premier League opening ceremony in Cardiff next month. If this was Luke Littler vs. Gervin Price, a lot of people would pay a lot of money. And I am one of them.
