Luke Littler nowhere near world’s ‘most loved’ darts star – but fans can’t argue with No1

Teenage sensation Luke Littler might be the talk of the darts world at the moment but, according to new data, he doesn’t even make the top 10 of most loved players on the current circuit

Luke Littler isn’t the worlds most loved darts player

Luke Littler has been snubbed as the world’s most loved darts player, according to new data.

The 17-year-old has shot to superstardom after he made the final of the Paddy Power PDC World Darts Championship at the turn of the year. And the Nuke has been widely cheered by darts fans during his Premier League run.

However, Littler, according to new data from AceOdds, isn’t the most loved darts player on the circuit. Instead that honour falls to Ryan Searle, who receives 84% positive reactions.

Luke Littler darts fans can back ‘The Nuke’ in Premier League with his playing shirt

Luke Littler fans can now buy the 17-year-old’s playing shirt to support him as he continues to demonstrate his talent in the Premier League.

The darts sensation was only 16 when he wowed Alexandra Palace at the World Darts Championship (WDC), despite a final loss to Luke Humphries.

The Nuke will continue playing against seven of the best dart players in the world — Humphries, Michael van Gerwen, Gerwyn Price, Michael Smith, Nathan Aspinall, Rob Cross and Peter Wright — in a mini-tournament in a different city every Thursday until the final in May.

Littler doesn’t even make the top 10 of the list, finishing 14th with just 59% positive reactions. However, the most surprising part of the list is perhaps Luke Humphries finishing above the Nuke – despite being heavily booed when the pair have clashed.

Humphries finished 12th with a positive percentage of 61%. Michael Smith was second in the rankings, while Andrew Gilding rounded out the podium.

At the other end of the scale, Rob Cross received the most negative reactions according to the study – with just 8%. Cross beat the infamous ‘bad boy’ of darts, Gerwyn Price, who came in third place with a total of 6% of reactions towards him being negative.

Interestingly, Stephen Bunting finished 10th on the list – with 3% of his reactions being negative. But he also ranked sixth in the most loved players with 73% positive reactions.
