So sad about Manchester city star during their game
  1. Manager Pep Guardiola says no one was hurt when Jack Grealish’s home was broken into while his family were there.

Thieves targeted the home of Manchester City winger in their 3-1 win over Everton at Goodison Park on Wednesday, two days after Christmas. His relatives were watching a Premier League match at the building when the incident happened.

While police investigated, the thieves allegedly stole a significant amount of valuables and fled. Guardiola expressed his relief that there were no injuries and confirmed that Grealish will be available for Saturday’s home game against Sheffield United.

“Fortunately there was nothing in the family,” Guardiola said. “Even these days, there’s a lot going on. “It was a difficult time for me and my family, but luckily the people inside were safe.”

Cheshire Police issued a statement about the incident. “A theft was reported to police at approximately 9.50pm on Wednesday 27 December. Caller reported that some items were stolen. “Officers, assisted by police dogs and air force officers, searched the area but found no sign of the suspect. No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Cheshire Police.”

It is unclear whether Grealish will play on Saturday, but Guardiola will be without John Stones after picking up an ankle injury against Everton. Erling Holland (ankle) and Kevin De Bruyne (hamstring) are still recovering from injuries. Guardiola: “Nothing has changed. We’ve had injuries like John Stones. Bottom club Sheffield United enjoyed their best performance of the season under returning manager Chris Wilder, taking four points from five games. However, a 3-2 defeat at home to Luton on Boxing Day was a huge blow for the Blades.

However, Guardiola is not taking Saturday’s game lightly. He said: “We had problems before with Sheffield (Man United). They had a great performance against Aston Villa (1:1). They almost won the game.”

Guardiola highlighted City’s recent 2-2 draw at home to Crystal Palace. He said: “It will be very tough, like Crystal Palace. We didn’t win our last game at home, so we’ll try to focus on what we have to do.
