The Seattle Seahawks host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday afternoon at Lumen Field. With a decisive game expected, neither team can afford to lose before the play-offs. Both men have 8-7 records, and after Pittsburgh won in overtime, the rematch is expected to be just as exciting as the last time the two met in 2021. Despite a packed schedule of games on Sunday, fans will likely want to carve out some time for this game.

Pittsburgh is back in the win column.

With three straight wins after injuries and changes at quarterback, the Steelers were able to get back into the win column last week. Despite being held to three points, the Steelers dominated the AFC North race from start to finish, defeating the Bengals. This can be difficult for this group as there are some inconsistencies in the 500 road records not only away from home but also on the West Coast. As the Ravens head into their next game, Pittsburgh knows it’s a must-win game to advance in the postseason.

The Steelers have one of the shortest injury reports in the league, which gives them confidence. That said, there are a few key names to watch out for. Naji Harris is questionable, as is Minkah Fitzpatrick, making him a potential loss on both sides of the ball. Meanwhile, Kenny Pickett has been ruled out despite missing last week’s win.
Pittsburgh will have to rely on one of the league’s most dominant defensive lines in this game. The quantity is definitely down from last year, but the ability to get after the quarterback and create turnovers is important. The offense has been disappointing this season, and while it performed well last week, questions remain about how they can repeat that performance. The wide receivers stepped up and against the worst defense in the league in Seattle, they felt good about their chances of success. It needs a strong starting unit to maintain reliability, but if rust sets in early, it may not perform as intended. Seabirds fly powerfully

Seattle started the season strong, but a lull in play made it feel like the season could be on hold. Suddenly, with two straight wins, Seattle is back in contention and should feel good between next week’s games against Pittsburgh and Arizona. At 5-2, they have a clear home advantage and are confident and working in their favour. Anything short of winning this game could be a problem. Seattle has lacked explosiveness on both sides of the ball at times, but given how they’ve played recently, it makes sense that’s the case for them. Seattle’s injury ratio is nearly double Pittsburgh’s, and the fact that they’re winning shows their depth. There are concerns on the offensive end, with DK Metcalf and Kenneth Walker both being discussed, leading to two massive absences. There are also questions about the secondary, as all eyes will be on whether Jamal Adams or Devon Witherspoon can improve on their questionable titles.
The Seahawks have seen their offense take a step back from last season, with the Seahawks currently ranked in the bottom third of the league in several offensive categories. Geno Smith looks to be gaining some stability at quarterback, especially with some younger players joining the offense. A few successful runs could be all it takes for this team to win against a Pittsburgh team that struggles on offense most of the time. That said, their defense is a concern, mostly due to injuries, but they are good enough to win.

Seattle is looking for a win and a clean sweep in this game. Pittsburgh looked great last weekend, but they also had to deal with their backup quarterback. Having to contend with elite quarterbacks and cap space, along with traveling to one of the toughest places to play in the country could make things difficult for them. Their problems on the road have been well documented, while Seattle has dominated at home. Seattle has struggled defensively this season, but is now looking back to form, which is a shame for Pittsburgh. Seattle has scored three goals in the series and four in the last five games, while Pittsburgh has continued that trend in the series, scoring once in the last four games.
Prediction: Seattle (-3.5)

This will be one of the lowest scoring games of the weekend and a bottom game would be a smart bet. For Seattle, it’s more about running the clock and the ball. Aside from Pittsburgh’s big offensive performance in the final minutes, it wasn’t enough for this struggling team to suddenly change what it had been for most of the season. Pittsburgh turned up the defensive pressure and Seattle went for a corner kick. Seattle’s last three games have seen the final results as the two teams have combined for four straight games. Prediction: 41 or less
