The 2024 Paddy Power World Darts Championship Final will remain on pay-per-view after terrestrial broadcasters refused to broadcast it.

The Ally Pally final pits 16-year-old sensation Luke Littler against new world number one and pre-tournament favourite, Luke Humphreys. Littler’s remarkable progress has seen him achieve record performances on Sky Sports since the tournament began 30 years ago.

Littler’s success went beyond sport, with a group of MPs calling for the final to be televised. Jamie Stone, the Lib Dems’ culture and sport spokesman, said: “It would be a shame if this historic match was hidden from millions of people.” The final must be televised. “If you can watch football, cricket and rugby World Cup finals for free, so can darts.”
