Luke Littler’s sister sends touching message after reaching World Darts Championship final
Luke Littler beat former world champions Rob Cross and Raymond van Barneveld to face world number one Luke Humphreys in the final of the PDC World Championship.
Luke Littler’s sister Caitlin sent an emotional message after the darts star beat Rob Cross 6-2 to progress to the final of the PDC World Championship.
The 16-year-old is enjoying a dream run at Alexandra Palace, having now beaten two former world champions in Kroos and Raymond van Barneveld. Littler will face new world number one Luke Humphreys after beating Scott Williams 6-0 in the semi-finals.
And Littler received words of encouragement from her sister before the final. “So proud of you, you are so amazing @lukethenukelittler,” she lovingly wrote on her Instagram story.
Humphreys will be Littler’s toughest challenge but the teenager is confident of his chances of lifting the Sid Waddell Trophy. “It hasn’t sunk in yet,” Littler admitted after beating Cross.
“I had a good average last year and I’m happy to be on the big stage. You have to focus, be Luke Littler and relax. I can not believe. I set out to win a game and be back after Christmas, but I’m still on my feet.
“I can’t imagine lifting the trophy. I have to beat the person in front of me. I have to stay mature and behave. “We have to try to calmly cross that line,” he said.
Meanwhile, Humphries praised Littler, admitting that “I might have to play the game of my life” to beat him. “I’ve seen him play many times,” he said. It can be much more difficult to be on that stage, but he proved that there is more to the bottle.
