This year will be the biggest event golf fans have seen since Tiger Woods boldly announced he would host monthly events until 2024. Woods, who turned 48 two days ago, has made rare appearances on the golf stage since the 2021 single-car crash that nearly ended his career, including his remarkable comeback at the 2022 Masters.
However, there is hope that 2024 could be the year that the Tiger as we know it returns. With a full schedule, there’s no need to worry about walking, just your usual grit and determination.
Things can kick off on February 15 for the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club outside of Los Angeles. Woods said the Hero World Challenge could start with Genesis as he builds his annual plan, and the 15-time winner will host and benefit his TGR Foundation, just like the event held in the Bahamas last month.
It is also one of three tournaments Woods will play in 2023, crossing the finish line outside Los Angeles in his first professional event since missing the cut at the 150th Open at St . Andrews a year ago. But one thing is certain: Woods will return to his beloved Augusta National Club in early April.
Woods will return to the Masters from April 11-14 and aim for a record sixth green jacket. There, next month’s PGA Championship will be held at Valhalla, the same course where he won the Wanamaker Trophy as part of the 2000 Tiger Slam.
A former winner of two events, he received lifetime exemptions from both events and will travel across the Atlantic to Royal Troon in July with three climbs on the Claret Jug to qualify for the Open. Up to 60 years.
However, the US Open between the USPGA and the US Open is a hurdle. For the first time in 27 years, Woods will not automatically qualify for this year’s major at Pinehurst.
But this problem is easy to solve. Woods could receive a special exemption from US Open organizers that will allow the three-time winner to return and meet his tournament quota in June after not playing a major for the past three years.

“But not now, I won’t get involved. Who knows if you will have to ask formally or not, if you will get a call, if you will get a discount, or if you will qualify for a discount? \’
Jack Nicklaus has the most handicaps in history with 8, and Arnold Palmer has 5. Phil Mickelson was the latest recipient of an exemption for 2021, but he didn’t need to receive one after winning the PGA Championship at Kiawah Island that year.
Between Genesis in February and the start of the main season in April, Woods has a variety of events to choose from. He may choose to participate in the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando from March 7-10.
