He will not be allowed to…\” – Rackham warns against ambitious transfer plans in January.
Carlton Palmer discussed Wrexham’s January transfer plans with FLW.
Rackham’s ambition to promote each other is evident as they target the signings of League One strikers Lee Gregory and Johnson Clarke-Harris.
Wrexham are currently third in League Two and are determined to break into the top three. The pursuit of Gregory and Clarke-Harris shows that Wrexham are keen to return to League One quickly and demonstrate their willingness to invest in the transfer market.
According to The Sun, Wrexham are one of the clubs interested in signing the League One striker. The fourth-tier side are looking to make ambitious moves to improve Phil Parkinson’s side as they seek back-to-back promotions this season.
Darren Witcup also revealed that Lee Gregory is on the shortlist of potential transfer targets this winter. This month is expected to be a busy one for the club as they look to improve their squad to improve their chances of promotion.
Carlton Palmer warned this month that signing Gregory and Clarke-Harris would be expensive. But he insisted that signing the pair would add two talented Ligue 1 players to the squad for the second half of the season.
“Wrexham are interested in signing Lee Gregory and Johnson Clarke-Harris to complement each other,” Palmer told Football League World. “Both are proven Premier League goals.

“Three teams have been automatically promoted into this competition and are currently in third place. “No player will be cheap. However, if they stay at the club until the end of the season, Wrexham will have two talented strikers from League One and only collect their wages, which won’t come cheap.
“I can’t imagine Peterborough letting Harris go for nothing. So Wrexham could pay in January if they wanted to. “Because of the buzz coming out of Peterborough, they’ve turned down their bid for him and they’re not going to let him go cheap.”
A sign of Wrexham’s ambition
The links with Gregory and Clarke-Harris are a sign that Wrexham are pushing for promotion this season.
Both players have proven themselves in Ligue 1 in recent seasons, so a move to the fourth tier would be a step backwards. However, Wrexham do not intend to stay in League Two for long and this will form a significant part of their negotiations with both leagues if talks continue too long.
It’s an exciting time to be a Wales supporter as Wrexham have money to spend this month.
