LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman thanks Rory McIlroy for ‘falling on his sword
LIV Golf chief executive Greg Norman has thanked Rory McIlroy for “falling on his sword” after admitting he was “too tough” on the Saudi-backed rebels who quit the PGA Tour.
After Jon Rahm turned down $500 million last month, he topped the list with his acceptance, calling it a turning point.
“I’m very grateful for what Rory said,” Norman said on the LIV Golf podcast. “It’s been painful for a few years.
“The reason I say I’m kind of grateful that Rory fell on his sword is because he judged us because he didn’t know the facts. He judged us by the thoughts and opinions of others. I said, “Hi, thanks.
