Michael Schumacher’s daughter set to marry at family home where F1 legend resides

Michael Schumacher’s daughter Gina is set to marry at the family’s Spanish home later this year, but it is not yet known whether the Formula 1 legend will attend.

Michael Schumacher’s daughter Gina is set to marry at the family’s luxury villa in Majorca later this year.
The 26-year-old is set to tie the knot with boyfriend Iain Bethke, 27, this summer. Mallorcan newspaper Ultima Hora reported, citing a German magazine, that a wedding planner had been hired from northern Germany to put the finishing touches on the party.
The pair are said to be saying ‘I do’ under the floral arches of the villa, which Schumacher’s wife, the seven-time Formula 1 world champion, reportedly bought from Real Madrid president Florentino Perez in 2017. News of the wedding did not indicate whether Michael, who turns 55 three days after the 10-year anniversary of the skiing disaster, would attend.

 

Gina and Iain, who love horses, made their relationship official six years ago. They appeared at the awards ceremony in Munich in December 2017. Last September, Michael’s daughter shared a new photo of her with her boyfriend on her Instagram page. In September 2020, former Formula 1 world champion Schumacher was reported to have spent time at a villa in Mallorca. Gina and her brother Mick celebrated their father’s 55th birthday this week. Gina posted on Instagram: “Congrats Dad! “A glimpse into one of our many adventures.”

The caption included a childhood photo of him and his older brother, a Formula 1 legend. Mick, 24, wrote: “Happy birthday to the best dad. I love you!\’

The post included a photo of the pair wearing headphones, with young Mick smiling and giving a thumbs up as Michael looked on lovingly. Schumacher’s former F1 team Mercedes also posted a birthday message urging him to “keep fighting”. “Nothing is the same,” Michael’s younger brother Ralf, an F1 driver, told German newspaper Bild last week.
