Get set to honor a legend on Nov. 18, when EMU celebrates Legacy Day by naming the basketball court after legendary basketball coach, Ben Braun.

The dedication is scheduled for just before tipoff at the Eagles’ second home game of the season,  1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, when EMU Athletics officials unveil the etching of Braun’s name on the basketball court inside the George Gervin GameAbove Center.

Braun, EMU men’s basketball coach with the most wins in program history, with an accumulated 185 victories, three Mid-American Conference regular season championships, three MAC Tournament titles, three NCAA Tournament selections, three MAC Coach of the Year trophies, and a 106-35 home record in 11 seasons.

Speaking of power on the court, EMU volleyball’s Samantha Basham is killing it.

Basham notched her 1,000th career kill on Saturday, Oct. 21, as the Eagles took on Western Michigan University.

Although EMU lost the match 3-0, senior Basham’s career record kills now stands at 1,001. Basham is from Granville, Ohio.
