The Detroit Lions welcome the Minnesota Vikings to Ford Field for the regular season finale. The Lions have fallen to third in the NFC and have little chance of making the playoffs even if the Vikings win. Detroit suffered a controversial loss at Dallas and the Vikings suffered an embarrassing loss at home to Green Bay. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 PM ET.
Rookie Jaren Hall started for the Vikings but failed to impress as he threw for an interception and went just 5-of-10 from the field. Minnesota’s defense allowed 470 yards of offense while the Vikings mustered just north of 200 yards. Minnesota was 3-10 on third down and 1-3 in the red zone. Hall shared snaps with Nick Mullens, who had 113 yards and a touchdown. Ty Chandler led the backfield with 40 yards on 10 carries. Minnesota enters this game averaging 20.3 points per game, ranking 22nd in the league. The Vikings have struggled to find a suitable player at QB since Kirk Cousins suffered from Achilles tendinitis. So Minnesota was able to move the ball and was 12th in the league.
