Former West Brom, Blackburn and Sunderland managers are in talks to sign Wayne Rooney, who was sacked after two wins in 15 games at the club. Mowbray was always at the top of the shortlist, as Mirror Sport first discovered on Wednesday. The two sides are currently in contract negotiations and if terms are agreed, the 60-year-old could be installed this weekend. Mowbray rejected a number of offers after being relieved of his duties at the Stadium of Light last month. But the prospect of working for a club with stable ownership committed to playing a progressive brand of football seems attractive. Mowbray is best known in the area for his time at Royal Blue Hearts during his time in charge of the Baggies and Coventry. Birmingham have two candidates to replace Wayne Rooney, including the former manager.

And it comes with a lot of real experiences
