Tiger Woods and sportswear giant Nike have ended their partnership of more than 27 years.
The 15-time major golf champion has used the brand’s products and equipment since turning pro in 1996. “The days that followed were filled with so many wonderful moments and memories. When I say their names, they disappear forever,” Woods said on social media.
Nike said it was an honor to work with “one of the greatest athletes in the world.” The deal became one of the most successful partnerships in sports history. Woods dominated the golf world for more than a decade and finished third in the men’s majors behind leader Jack Nicklaus.
Woods became one of the most popular sports stars in the world, signing several contracts throughout his career, including a 10-year, $200 million deal with Nike. Tim Derdenger, Associate Professor of Marketing
