Mercedes tease Russell with hilarious Golden Globes comparison  

Mercedes’ social media team perfectly highlighted the striking similarities between F1 driver George Russell and award-winning actor Cillian Murphy when they accepted the Golden Globe for Best Actor.
Russell has been the subject of many F1 (X) Twitter reminisces throughout 2023 and it looks like 2024 has started in the same way. The Brit admitted he was nervous while filming the launch of F1 2024 last month as he had to adopt the iconic pose from last year’s title sequence.
George Russell has been the star of many memes over the past 12 months. George Russell may have plenty of superstar friends, but the Brit won’t be invited to the Golden Globes.

Now, one of her photogenic poses from last season has drawn comparisons to Murphy’s in the blockbuster Oppenheimer, for which she won a Golden Globe earlier this week. It’s not the first time Russell has been compared to a movie star in recent weeks as F1 is still on winter break.
Just before Christmas, Mercedes’ social media team released a hilarious video of someone donning a Russell helmet and recreating Hugh Grant’s favorite dance Jump by the Pointer Sisters from Love Actually. The 25-year-old has now been shortlisted by his team for the 2024 Golden Globe Award for Best Actor. Not a bad compliment!
