Tiger Woods’ text messages to Brooks Koepka once went unanswered, as confirmed then by LIV Golfer

One text message from Tiger Woods to Brooks Koepka went unanswered, the golfer confirmed to LIV at the time.

Brooks Koepka once imagined Tiger Woods in 2019. Contrary to popular belief at the time, this was not intentional and was caused by Koepka’s phone interference. This incident occurred during the 2019 Open Championship, in which Woods and Koepka participated.
Ahead of the tournament at Royal Portrush Golf Club in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, Woods texted Koepka asking him to take part in a practice session. The legendary golfer himself said as much at a pre-tournament press conference. The then 44-year-old said he contacted the then champion four times to congratulate him on his performance. Tiger Woods said this at a press conference ahead of the 148th Open.

“Tell me an interesting story. Congratulations on another great finish,” I wrote to Brooksy. What he’s accomplished in the last four majors is unbelievable. Very consistent and strong. He ran to win every major championship. I said, “Hey mate, can I come play a practice round?” – I said.

It should be noted that Woods also wanted to win.
