Parsons made the prediction on his The Edge podcast, and the Dallas Cowboys star explained that the Bills have a huge advantage in the game. Not only does TJ Watt pitch for the Steelers, but he also plays at home in Buffalo and has been very good all season.
“I think the bill is going in the right direction. I noticed that TJ Watt is missing. I’m at Josh’s house and he has to go see Bill.
As Micah Parsons pointed out, the absence of TJ Watt will definitely hurt the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is the centerpiece of the defense and there is no way to replace such an impressive player if he loses a Defensive Player of the Year candidate. This is especially true now that the postseason is upon us.
Watt has 19.0 sacks, 48 solo tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 36 QB hits, eight passes defensed and four forced fumbles. The Steelers can only fill the holes left on defense by committee, and that will be a challenge against a Buffalo Bills team that has one of the best offenses in the league today.
The Josh Allen-led Bills ranked fourth in total offense in 2023 behind the Miami Dolphins, San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions. Allen’s tendency to throw interceptions is important, but he was too good for Buffalo.
Without their best quarterback, the Steelers may not be able to make things difficult for the Bills QB. Another issue when the Pittsburgh Steelers play the Buffalo Bills in the wild card on Sunday is that Josh Allen’s team is currently in top form.
Buffalo is riding a five-game winning streak, so they will be confident heading into the game. In that streak, they beat top teams like the Kansas City Chiefs, Dallas Cowboys, and Miami Dolphins.
The home games also work in the Bills favor as they are 7-2 at home this season. Meanwhile, the Steelers had a pretty average record on the road, going 5-3.
Whether the Steelers can prove Micah Parsons wrong remains to be seen, but they have their work cut out for them.
