Travis Kelce explains decision to miss Kansas City Chiefs’ final NFL regular season game

Travis Kelce missed a personal milestone in the Kansas City Chiefs’ final game of the regular season, but it wasn’t hard to come away with a 13-12 victory.

Travis Kelce says he doesn’t care about breaking records after missing the final game of the regular season.

Travis Kelce expressed his feelings after missing a personal milestone. He needed just 16 yards until the final game of the regular season to record his eighth 1,000-plus receiving season. However, the Kansas City Chiefs won 13-12 over the Los Angeles Chargers. Kelce has decided not to play, but quarterback Patrick Mahomes is trying to get him on the field in hopes of reaching 1,000 yards. Now he has explained his decision. Speaking on the New Heights podcast with his brother Jason Kelce, who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles, Travis said he’s not worried about the record. “No, it’s not even about the records,” he said. \”I do not care. “It was a record that was broken four times.”

He added: “I’m happy to have that record, but at the same time I’ve never sat here and said, ‘If I don’t get over 1,000 yards, my season is a failure.’ I think losing the Super Bowl is a failure. “It didn’t feel right to try to get 16 yards out there, so I thought I’d just put the energy away and let my guys go out there and shake it up, and of course they did.”

All-Star Patrick Mahomes did not play in the game while Blaine Gabbert did. The last time another quarterback started a regular season game for the Super Bowl water champions was two years ago when Chad Henne started against the Chargers.

“It was never right,” he said. “It had nothing to do with health, nothing to do with injuries. It just felt wrong in me and I couldn’t play.” That’s how you should play it. “If I can rest next week, stay in LA and avoid a few hits, I’ll be ready for the playoffs.” The Chiefs begin their playoff campaign in the wild card round. Saturday at the Miami Dolphins.
