Tiger Woods’ $745m mystery deepens amid oddly specific.

Topgolf, a US-based company with hi-tech driving ranges across the world, posted a job listing on LinkedIn titled “Global Head of Golf Footwear and Apparel” just days after Woods confirmed he was ending his partnership with Nike.

As with any job offering, candidates will need to hold certain qualifications that make them a suitable candidate.

However, in the case of Topgolf’s listing, the very strict qualifications mean there is only one person who is qualified for the job: Woods.

Some of the qualifications included starting golf before the age of five, needs no less than 82 Tour victories, must have lead the World Golf rankings for at least 281 consecutive weeks or more as “preferably” 163 top five finishes.

Despite Woods being the only individual who meets these qualifications, it didn’t stop 388 highly ambitious yet vastly underqualified candidates from applying for the role.

But given Woods’ recent split with Nike, it is certainly a curious job posting and the timing of it furthers the mystery.

Although Woods didn’t indicate if he had another sponsor lined up, he did indicate he would be able to reveal details about “another chapter” at next month’s Genesis Invitational in Los Angeles.

Woods confirmed his exit from Nike in a statement on social media, bringing an end to a partnership which earned the sporting legend approximately $AUD745 million over 27 years.

“Over 27 years ago, I was fortunate to start a partnership with one of the most iconic brands in the world,” Woods said.

“The days since have been filled with so many amazing moments and memories, if I started naming them, I could go on forever.

“(Former Nike CEO) Phil Knight’s passion and vision brought this Nike and Nike Golf partnership together and I want to personally thank him, along with the Nike employees and incredible athletes I have had the pleasure of working with along the way.”
