I write breaking news with a focus on markets and sporting events.

Tiger Woods’ contract with Nike has ended, the golf legend announced on social media on Monday. This makes the collaboration between Tiger Woods and the clothing brand one of the most popular and successful collaborations in history. Woods, who has endorsed Nike since his professional debut in 1996, signed a 10-year contract in 2013.
Nike said goodbye in an Instagram post, saying: “Great run Tiger.”

Nike and Woods have not given a reason for the split, but rumors of a breakup have surfaced in recent months, as Woods refuses to comment on his long-term future with Nike and has been wearing golf apparel from other brands in recent months. Woods said Monday that he would begin a “new chapter,” but it was unclear whether the 48-year-old golfer was referring to his playing career or another clothing project.

That’s over $500 million. Forbes estimated how much money Woods made from Nike.

We estimate that Woods is worth $1.1 billion thanks to $1.8 billion in sponsorships and tournaments.
