Eagles’ Jason Kelce refutes reports of his NFL retirement

Eagles quarterback Jason Kelce has denied reports of his retirement from the NFL.

After multiple NFL insiders reported Tuesday that the Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro center had informed teammates of his decision to retire, Kelce returned to his brother on his “New Heights” podcast Wednesday and denied the claims. Kansas City Chiefs Travis Kelce:

Kelce said coach Nick Sirianni gave him the floor after Monday’s 32-9 wild-card loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, the 36-year-old said he did not take the opportunity to announce his retirement, explaining that it was too emotional to announce or make such a big decision. However, the center, who has become synonymous with Philadelphia sports during his more than a decade in Philadelphia, told his team after the game to cherish every moment in the NFL. After sharing that, Kelce got emotional on the podcast. He also paid tribute to everyone who helped him get to where he is now, saying a decision will be made “eventually” when it is made. Kelce was drafted by the Eagles in the sixth round of the 2011 draft and has been the Eagles’ starting quarterback ever since. Hall of Famer Kelce won a Super Bowl with the Eagles in 2017 and earned seven Pro Bowl selections and six First-Team All-Pro selections during his 13-year career. Maybe this career isn’t over yet.
