The MoneyGram Haas F1 Team is pleased to announce that American driver Chloe Chambers will represent the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team in the 2024 F1 Academy Series, competing with Campos Racing.

The 19-year-old from Fort Wayne, Indiana, will receive support from the American Formula One team as the second season of the F1 Academy moves to select Formula One Grand Prix weekends. Chambers started karting at the age of 8 and won several regional and national championships over a nine-year period. In 2021, Chambers had his first chance to compete in a single seat in the US F4 Championship and scored his first points at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Chambers entered the 2022 W Series alongside series champion Jamie Chadwick. To secure their place, American runners were invited to two events in Arizona, USA and Barcelona, Against many hopefuls and automatic qualifiers from the previous season, Chambers fought back and was confirmed to race for Jenner Racing.

To add to his single-seater experience, Chambers competed in the 2023 Porsche Sprint Challenge North America as one of the junior drivers, driving a Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport. She also competed in the 2023 Castrol Toyota Formula Oceania Regional Championship in New Zealand, becoming the first female polesitter, first female winner and most improved driver in the series.\\

On the track, Chambers also holds the Guinness World Record for the fastest car corner. The American set a record of 47.45 seconds behind the wheel of a Porsche 718 Spyder in 2020 at the age of 16. As the selected driver for the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team, Chambers will compete wearing custom clothing and a custom racing suit. He will also be fully integrated into the team, have access to team personnel to support on-track activities, be in regular contact with the technical team during the race weekend and fulfill a marketing and communications role. MoneyGram Haas F1 Team F1 Academy driver Chloe Chambers said: “I am very excited to drive the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team with Campos Racing at the F1 Academy.” “Haas support will open many doors to new experiences and this will be a place where I can learn. I’m excited to go to Miami for my home race with Haas, it’s a race I’m really looking forward to. This is my first season at the F1 Academy and I’m looking forward to getting good results and developing as a driver. I did some tests with Campos Racing and the team last winter and we work very well together.”

“As the father of two karting enthusiasts, I know how important representation is to encourage the next generation to take the leap and achieve their dreams,” said Ayao Komatsu, MoneyGram Haas F1 Team Principal. “It was great to meet Chloe and see her excitement for the upcoming season. The team really enjoyed getting to know her, including talking to factory engineers, taking part in pit stop practice and attending her first media engagement. The MoneyGram Haas F1 Team fully supports the objectives of Formula 1 and the F1 Academy and is committed to using our resources to develop the talents of young girls and women participating in the sport.”

The 2024 F1 Academy Series will feature competition at seven venues, with two races taking place on the same weekend. The season kicks off with the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix on March 7 and 9.
