Formula 1 journalist Peter Windsor has admitted he believes Lando Norris will be “sick and tired” of his McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri by the end of the season.

Having beaten Daniel Ricciardo during his time at McLaren, there is another Australian rival in 2023. Oscar Piastri has built a great reputation at the Alpine Academy and continued that reputation last year.

Peter Windsor now suggests that Norris wants to leave Morkefer by the end of the year because of the plates.
I signed a contract until the end of 2025, but there is no sufficient access to potential vouchers. Red Bull have always been interested in Norris, but bringing him in as a replacement for Sergio Perez could cost a fortune.

Windsor thinks Norris will tire of Piastre.
Speaking about the 24-year-old Englishman’s upcoming season, Windsor said: “By the end of 2024, Lando [Norris] will have had enough of Oscar Piastri and will want to go and do something.” Along with Ferrari and Red Bull. “But if not, if Fernando (Alonso) doesn’t race in 2025, it could be an Aston (Martin) or something like that.
“But I think Fernando wants to race in 2025, but if he doesn’t come, he might go there.”
Aston Martin would love to sign a driver like Norris, but last season’s results suggest he is unlikely to step down. Ferrari are also interested in Norris, but instead have Carlos Sainz, who could soon sign a new contract.
Windsor’s suggestion that Norris will wear down Piastri seems unlikely at this point, but Piastri should close the gap on his teammate this year. Norris has never worked with a partner who can push him, and he may have to step up if he wants to be the team’s undisputed number one.
But for now, the team and Norris believe in each other and believe they can win races and even titles together in the future. It would take a major change in the relationship for Norris to consider leaving next winter.
