One of the Championship sides interested in the 26-year-old was Birmingham. Birmingham are currently struggling to rebuild their season at the bottom of England’s second tier and are believed to be in need of attacking reinforcements. However, Birmingham Live’s Alex Dicken claims the Blues are not currently competing for Langstaff’s signature.

Dicken Langstaff commented on the rumour: “I’ve also been told it’s a non-starter. “He’s not someone who should be on the Blues’ radar at the moment.”

Signing the forward would be a bold move for the Welsh side though, with the Magpies demanding a £1.5m bonus to see him move to their rivals, which could see them crash out of the competition. I think a club like Birmingham would have an advantage. It only increases your chances of moving.

I especially wish it had come out in January.
