PGA Tour star Viktor Hovland has decided to WD from this week’s Phoenix Open, as LIV Golf rumours continue to grow.

PGA Tour star Victor Hovland pulled out of the Phoenix Open this week as speculation grew that he would join LIV Golf this season.

Hovland gave a two-word response to a reporter briefed on the latest LIV Golf rumors two weeks ago. The 26-year-old is one of the hottest tickets at LIV Golf as he is the PGA Tour FedEx Cup champion and is currently ranked fourth in the world.

Hovland has been linked with a move to LIV Golf since the Saudi-funded circuit came on the scene in 2022. LIV Golf took a $600 million cut from Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hutton this offseason, but our sources say LIV has gone all out to lure another European Ryder Cup star from the PGA Tour to Hovland.

The six-time PGA Tour winner’s decision to pick WD at this week’s Phoenix Open added fire to LIV Golf Links. Victor Hovland withdraws from the Phoenix Open.

Maybe Hovland will be eager to go practice with a new golf coach for a week after his poor showing in the T58 at Pebble Beach last weekend, or is it just a minor injury?
