In an interview after winning, Woods expressed his feelings of joy about the win. Asked if he thought it was possible, he replied: “But it’s a feeling that’s very hard to explain. I don’t know why, but it was just a fight and I fought until the end and in the end I won. It felt really good.
“Many more to come,” the interviewer concluded. In fact, he is not wrong. Woods scored 82 strokes, the most in PGA history.
